Ethically Sourced

We want you to be able to buy diamond jewellery with confidence. We specifically chose our supplier as they go to great lengths to ensure the diamonds they sell have been ethically sourced; through auditable means which show the diamonds adhere to the Kimberly process. We want to give you comfort that your purchase is from a legitimate source, genuine and traceable so you can wear it with love and pride.

Exclusively GIA or IGI

Due to their exceptional reputation we only recommend diamonds certified by GIA. Each stone is graded twice, by different graders, to ensure the grading is accurate and the price isn’t inflated. Your diamond will also come with a serial number engraved on the girdle to match your certificate. This most trusted authority for diamond grading will give you the assurance of quality and value.

Breaking down the 4cs

Every diamond, like its wearer, is unique. The diamond is defined by 4 characteristics (4C’S) that affect the quality of your sparkler.

Colour
Clarity
Carat
Cut
Fluorescence

Colour

A diamonds colour is based on the level of colour or absence of it. The lesser the colour the more pure and desirable the diamond is seen to be. The colour is evaluated by GIA from a scale starting for D to Z, with D being colourless and Z light yellow.

Our Reccommendation

As the second most important grading we at Humaiyra exclusively choose diamonds between D to G, meaning they are the rarest of colours and all colourless.

When choosing your diamond you should consider what colour metal your ring will be. If your diamond is going to be set in 18 carat yellow or rose gold, you can choose a diamond with a slightly lower colour grade. The warmer colour tones present in the metal will camouflage the yellow and make your diamond appear whiter.

Clarity

A quest to make each piece personal to you

When diamonds are formed deep in the earth under immense heat and pressure, they develop unique characteristics/marks on their surface and internally. Depending on the number of inclusions, their size, position, tone and colour, they may or may not be visible to the naked eye.

The clarity chart by GIA allows a stone to be graded from flawless (no visible flaws under x10 magnification ) to Included (inclusions visible to the naked eye).

Our Recommendation

Choosing the clarity is very personal, see what is most important to you so you can maximise your budget. We at Humaiyra will not choose any diamond below SI2. For that sweet spot diamond the most popular grading is VS2 or SI1. This range has diamonds of good quality and competitive prices and it also allows you to choose a larger carat and higher colour.

Carat

Carat is the weight of a diamond, its name comes from the carob seed that was once used to weigh diamonds. larger diamonds are more rare so the heavier the diamond, the higher the price. As carat is the weight It is worth noting two diamonds of the same weight can vary in size if one is cut deeper than the other. In other words, it is important to remember that carat weight does not necessarily mean size.

We offer diamonds in a large range of carat. if you’re keen to stick within a set price point message us your requirements and well source you the best value diamond.

Our Recommendation

A bigger diamond doesn’t always mean a better diamond. When choosing your sparkler we recommend focusing on the quality and ensuring a balance of all the 4cs to give you a greater everlasting sparkle in every light.

Cut

Cut is the most important of the 4Cs. We often think of a diamond's cut as a shape (round, emerald, pear), but a diamond's cut grade is really about how well a diamond's facets interacts with light and sparkles. It is determined by symmetry, proportion and polish. Cut grades range from Excellent to Poor.

When a diamond is cut to ideal proportions the light will travel through and exit from the table at the top which gives it the sparkle. If the diamond is cut too shallow it may look bigger than other stones at the same weight but it will leak light from underneath so won't shine as bright. If the diamond is cut too deep it will appear smaller than other diamonds at the same weight and light will leak from the sides.

Our Reccommendation

Our Recommnedation How well the diamond is cut will determine the beauty of the stone. At Humaiyra we only choose diamonds with excellent or very good cut grades to guarantee the greatest sparkle, brilliance and fire.

Fluorescence

Diamonds Fluorescence is when some particles that are inside the diamond emit a blue visible glow when exposed to UV lighting.

Fluorescence ranges from none through faint to medium, strong and very strong. A diamond with a strong or very strong fluorescence in some cases can appear cloudy or milky.

Our Recommendation

At Humaiyra we always select diamonds with a none or very faint fluorescence grading.
